An event every week that begins at 5:30pm on Wednesday, repeating until October 21, 2015
The “cafe conversations” idea came about after discussions about how hard it can be for family members or friends to know what to say when they are worried about someone they care about. The cafe sessions are informal conversations, with free coffee provided, about how to have those conversations and are facilitated by local community mental health team members. Any community member who is concerned about the mental health of someone they care about is encouraged to drop in, have a coffee, and listen to or participate in the conversation. The “Art of Expresso” cafe owner Adrian Capra has once again enthusiastically supported the sessions with the launch of a new coffee blend – “The Side B”. Adrian has committed to donating a portion of future sales of this coffee blend to the local Suicide Prevention Group. The ‘cafe conversations” is an initiative of a partnership by the Young Shire Council, the Hilltops Suicide Prevention Group, the Art of Expresso cafe Management and the Young Community Mental Health Team.
