A symposium to focus on the wellbeing of refugee communities settling in south west Sydney , and showcase the many creative ways that local communities and refugees are working together to share skills and build new communities .Keynote speakers include leading orthopaedic surgeon and refugee Dr Munjed Al Muderis and Amnesty International ambassador, Najeeba Wazefadost. They will join a host of community organisations, such as schools, NGOs, sports and faith groups, in discussing strategies for building on the resilience and skills of new community members. The majority of sessions will be led by people with lived experience as refugees or asylum seekers. The Symposium aims to promote mental wellbeing, and create a platform for focused and effective local outreach and collective impact in south west Sydney.
