Mostly Mad Music is a charity which uses the passion and power of music to raise awareness about mental health. This year, as part of mental health month, Mostly Mad Music is taking music from the concert halls to the streets of Sydney in a series of pop-up chamber music concerts from Monday 14 to Friday 18 October. We believe that beautiful music arouses empathy and forges connections so the concerts are all about exploring how music can make you feel. The music performances will be themed by different moods on different days. This means you get to choose the mood you want to be in.

We’re really excited to announce an all-star line-up featuring internationally acclaimed soloists Filip Pogady and Christian Kim on violin and Van‐Anh Nguyen on keys.

Mad Music Ambassador and international soloist Filip Pogady is a firm believer that music should be available to everyone. As a member of Yehudi Menuhin’s “Live Music NOW!” Foundation, he is dedicated to bringing music to orphanages, nursing homes, prisons and hospitals. “Most of these people have never heard this kind of music before, and yet it touches them on a basic human level, because the music is just SO good,” he says.

Filip will be playing with Christian Kim, acclaimed as “one of the most talented young virtuosos of our time” and a “sound aesthete of outstanding quality”. Violinist Christian Kim enjoys a successful solo career, with performances throughout the USA, Europe and Asia. He has also been praised by the United Nations for his philanthropic work with the Trio Agape.

Joining Filip and Christian, is Van-Anh Nguyen. Van-Anh recently hit the No.1 spot on the Australian iTunes Classical charts (2018, 2017, 2016), and in 2017, was the first Australian-Vietnamese to ever enter the US iTunes Classical Charts. A concert pianist and composer, Van-Anh Nguyen has become a worldwide sensation and in-demand artist, leading an intense touring career across the globe as well as being the newest artist addition to the Universal Music/Decca Records family.

We are super lucky to have three such exceptional musicians and we would love to invite you to our pop-up concerts this year to hear them. You can register for our mailing list via the link below and we will send you details the week before with the exact time and place to go to. Bring the kids, a picnic lunch and enjoy the music.
