First we looked at the mental health client group which would consist of clients from Pius X SEW Unit and Community Health Mental Health Unit. We hope they find that there is support and understanding for them in the community and for them to feel strong to leave the safety of their homes and be accepted.. We hope by bring two other strong community groups to the forum/meeting we will get a cultural bonding.
The Women’s Elders group will get an understanding of mental health issues of the community and what they may face as they age, a traditional role of the women of our community is to tend.
The Men’s Group will get an understanding of mental health issues to support community and other men in the group who may encounter issues in this area.
