To celebrate Mental Health Month, the City of Canterbury Bankstown is hosting a series of FREE films across the area in partnership with South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Bankstown Arts Centre, Wellways and One Door Mental Health’s Carer Services.

These films focus on the mental health journeys’ of its characters and their families, and address coming to terms with identity and how wellness can be achieved through the support of friends and community.

Thursday 4 October, 1.30pm: Into the Light and Wadjda (Arabic with English subtitles) at Bankstown Arts Centre

Thursday 11 October, 6pm: The Perks of Being a Wallflower at Belmore Sports Ground

Thursday 18 October, 2pm: Still Alice at Bankstown Arts Centre

Thursday 25 October, 2pm: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel at Belmore Sports Ground

Getting there

Bankstown Arts Centre – 5 Olym​pic Parade Bankstown NSW 2200

Bankstown Arts Centre is within five minutes’ walking distance from Bankstown station and bus interchange. FREE four​ hours (4P) parking is available at the community carpark located along Olympic Parade. Also, Marion Street Carpark, Dale Lane Carpark, Brandon Avenue Carpark and Greenfield Parade Carpark are within walking distance to the Arts Centre.

Visitors with restricted mobility can enjoy all public spaces at the Arts Centre. Disabled parking is also available at Olympic Parade carpark.

Belmore Sports Gound – 3 Edison Lane, Belmore NSW 2192

Parking is available on site otherwise it’s a short walk from Belmore train station.
