The Paper Plane Project
October 1 @ 8:00 am - October 31 @ 5:00 pmFree
Share The Journey!
Each year Way Ahead encourages the community to put together events that draw attention to mental health. The events encourage community connectedness and aim to reduce the stigma associated with mental health.
To unify Early Links participants, their families, schools, their dedicated support workers, therapists and local community groups – we are creating an art exhibition! In line with the theme, Share The Journey, we are aiming to produce a display of 2500 paper airplanes!
With every plane that is made we are hoping that its creator will think about mental health and what mental health means to them.
The exhibition will take place in October, at Newcastle Airport!
To be part of our great event, all you need to do is to make and decorate as many planes as you can! Any paper will do but recycled is best!
Each plane is to be created how ever you like and then we ask you to write a message on the plane, or to decorate it, so that people that see the plane may Share The Journey with you.
You can share your paper construction skills or your paper decorating skills!
This project is also great for developing fine motor skills and social skills!
We look forward to seeing all the beautiful creations and we thank you for being part of our special installation!

We would be looking at collecting planes by mid-September. We would love for you to Share The Journey with us!
