Associate Professor Maria Kangas, Centre of Emotional Health Macquarie University
Although it is an unfortunate fact, a high proportion of people will experience highly stressful events during their lifespan.
Ms Kangas’s research focuses on understanding emotion regulation and coping strategies to help people emotionally adapt to stressful life events, including medical health problems.
Ms Kangas will provide an insight into the common problems experienced by teens – including somatic/physical symptoms (eg headaches, stomach-aches) concurrent with anxiety and/or depression. This seminar is a must for all care givers of teens or pre-teens.
