This event is being held to heighten the awareness of the increasing levels of  mental health disorders experienced by people with disabilities. Our group holds a social ice skating session every Saturday at Liverpool Catholic Club Ice Rink from 4:30pm to 5:15pm. A number of our inclusive skaters experience poor mental health, so this event is to acknowledge this and to build awareness of the need for people with disabilities to be better linked with services that can provide them the support they deserve. This week, Saturday 8th of October, from 2pm to 4pm at the Liverpool Catholic Club Ice Rink, we are holding a special session to promote the work that the Way Ahead Foundation are doing to improve mental health outcomes for the community. This 2 hour skating session for people with disabilities, will include support staff and fully trained coaches to assist skaters, refreshments and a goodie bag. We would love to invite new people with disabilities to come and try ice skating, as many of our skaters love the feeling of freedom that skating provides them with.
