My name is Eila Jameson-Avey and I’m an author. After a battle with mental health, I wrote a book which was published. It was a dream I’d had since a child but never expected to fulfil. It was this dream that helped me overcome the mental health condition that crippled me for half a decade.

In these busy times, we are all too good at burying our real emotions and ignoring what their telling us. Having a dream and taking steps to fulfil it provides an escape from the day-to-day trials of everyday life and provides a sanctuary where we can succeed and enjoy the present. Hearing about one person’s journey to recovery is motivating and inspirational. Come with a friend and share your Support of Mental Health Month.

In my talk, I share my experience of how and why I had a breakdown and my road to recovery. I discuss how realising our dreams maintains our mental health and builds resilience.
