TLK Morning Tea
October 22 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am
TLK Youth College will host 2 Mental Health Month creative morning tea sessions! They will allow students to take part in/and help to organise morning teas and art sessions and we are inviting a range of awesome mental health providers and ATSI community leaders in our project, ensuring students connect to and feel supported, seen and valued by a range of staff, adults and community connections.
Students can come together as a collective to enjoy hands-on creativity, which has been proven to lower stress, promote mental calm/clear thoughts, and to encourage our young people to express themselves and their inner most thoughts/feelings with kinaesthetic movement.
As a united group, we can enjoy a morning tea full of nutritious foods that will then promote physical health/wellbeing, and students can connect with one another, and trusted adults, in conversations that will focus on mental health/wellbeing. We will have starter questions/prompts to encourage open dialogue and real, raw conversations that will see students feel supported and safe to discuss the topics and issues that are most important to them.
